Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word document file format.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • Settings The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
  • Article processing charge: If the paper is accepted for publication, you will be asked to pay 200USD.

Author Guidelines

Please read the Manuscript Submission guidelines below, and then visit the journal’s site, to login and submit your article online. 

JSS considers all manuscripts on the strict condition that they have been submitted only to JSS, that they have not been published already, nor are they under consideration for publication or in press elsewhere. To expedite the review process, all manuscripts submitted to JSS must be prepared according to the following format.

-Articles should not exceed 10,000 words (excluding references).

Cover Page: This contains the title of the manuscript, all author names and their corresponding affiliations as well as mailing address, and email.

Title Page: The second page consists of the manuscript title, abstract (maximum of 200 words that reflects an abbreviated representation of the content of the manuscript including purpose, method, main results, conclusions, and/or recommendations), and up to seven keywords for indexing purposes. To facilitate the double-blind review process no material that identifies the author(s) should be placed on this page.

Text: The text should consist of an introduction, main body (including literature review, method, results, analysis, and discussion, as appropriate) and Conclusions. Text citations should adhere to the following examples: (Bram, 1994) or (Aronsson, 2001, 2002; Labonte & Laverack, 2005; Kwan, et al., 2003) or (Limbert, 2004, p.7) (for quoted material). Abbreviations should be fully spelled out in parentheses the first time that they are used in the text.

References: All manuscripts should follow the style guidelines set forth in the sixth edition of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association.

Article processing charge: If the paper is accepted for publication, you will be asked to pay 300USD.

All submissions to this section must be based on orginal research a clearly detailed methodology section.
